Anambra Poll: INEC refuses to declare Obiano winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it will hold supplementary governorship elections in some local councils of Anambra State, Saharareporters reports.

The commission announced that the governorship candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Willie Obiano, won in 16 out of 21 local governments, but refused to declare him the winner of the election.

It was gathered that Obiano won in Aguata, Ayamelum, Anambra East, Anambra West, Anaocha, Awka North, Awka South, Ekwusigo, Ihiala, Njikoka, Nnewi South, Ogbaru, Onitsha North, Onitsha South, Orumba North and Orumba South.

Meanwhile, the trio of Chris Ngige of APC, Tony Nwoye of PDP and Dr Ifeanyi Ubah of LP have jointly called for the cancellation of the November 16 governorship election in Anambra.
