Ebola Outbreak American Doctor Contracts Disease In Sierra Leone

Dr. Martin Salia is native of the West African country and also a permanent resident of the United States of America. The infected doctor will reportedly be flown to the Nebraska Medical Center on Saturday, November 15, to receive treatment for the disease. Spokesperson for the US State Department, Jen Psaki said that they were working “in consultation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention” and were also “in touch with the
family of a U.S. legal permanent resident working in Sierra Leone who has contracted Ebola.”
The State Department is also trying to decide if Dr. Salia is well enough to be transported back to the US. Eight Americans have contracted Ebola and been
treated in the US. All of them survived.
